The speaker explores the philosophical and logical reasons why Shia Muslims follow the Imams, drawing parallels to other physical and textual representations of God such as the Kaaba and the Holy Quran. Just as God provides a physical sanctuary and a written constitution to guide humanity, the speaker argues that He also requires infallible human representatives, or Imams, to safeguard and interpret the faith. The lecture emphasizes the necessity of these infallible leaders and references the Ahl al-Bayt in relation to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم، dear brothers and sisters، السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته. Today our subject is about why Shia chose to follow Imams and what's the evidence from a philosophical point of view and from a scientific point of view. As we know there is many articles in the internet, if we search it there is there is proof and evidence about it. And but many people they don't believe us, they don't believe that those verses from the Holy Quran representing Imam or Imams or there's many narration from the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam that are representing Imam and they always have a defeat being us like what they believe in in this matter.
But today I'm going to present something very very important about why God chose Imam and is it those Imam really represent God in a way in a human in a human way like like ambassadors for example. Let's talk about it regarding what is the definition of religion and how what is the prayers and how do we do our supplication and we can relate all this to the existence of Imam. I'm going to present this subject in in a 10 minute matter.
It's going to be very simple. I hope you'll bear with me and you ask me questions or you present your ideas because we are all searching for the truth and this is this is the main existence which is search for the real truth. I did search for it now and I'm going to present it for you and I hope you consider it and you make a conversation with people about it even with me too. Anyway, let's go back to the main subject.
The main subject is why Shia chose to follow Imams. Now we look at the at the Islam from from like the bigger perspective. At the very beginning we were ordered all of us to pray and we sat to center one place, which is its holy Mecca. That exist in us what we called now Saudi Arabia, in the Arabian peninsula. This building represent the house of God that we believe as Muslims. And if then Muslims come from outside, they say, oh Muslims, you you always say you're not worshiping a statue or you're not worshiping stones.
Why you guys always into this direction? Are you worshiping the God really the house of God or just the stones? In a philosophical point of view and in in thinking they might be right in this point if they don't know the truth, right? So we spend hard time saying oh this this place is not we're wrong, we don't worship stones, we just go do tawaf around them seven times. God, he want a presentation on earth, right? Because if God surrounding you in in every place, how can you find him regarding the three-dimensional field that we live on?
If God live in all those dimensions, or exist in all those dimensions and because he created them, he exist in them at the same time not in them. But it's not our point. Now we continue with this argument. If we do we do go around the Kaaba seven times and we do the pilgrims and we do all the prayers and then we go home, right? They call them Hajj. This is what we call Hajj, the pilgrim of Muslims. So God, I need a presentation, representation in earth to represent the house of God, right?
And this presentation is going bigger and bigger by building mosques, masjid and those mosques represent the house of God, like the smaller house of God and the bigger house of God is in Mecca, where we all go there and we all celebrate Allahu Akbar. So God need a representation on earth people to follow him. This is the first field. It's made of stone, right? This representation is made of stone. Okay, now for the plan of God need more advanced thing to reach humanity.
through science, through religion, through all what he created to show us what he created, and all his beautiful things. So, he needed something like a written Constitution to present him, so we can always open it and see it. And this representation is made by the Quran. Quran is the word represented by God. Now, when we when we take this book and we read it in front of non-believers, they say, it's just a book, it's written by
maybe Prophet Muhammad, okay, written by God. But what what is the main significant thing? Why you guys respect it so much? I mean, if someone go burn it, you do like a revolution inside the nation. Why you guys do all these things? We tell them it's not the book, the papers that matter to us. What matter to us is the words inside it, inside this holy book. Okay, this book is the representation of God, the Constitution like what we said.
And this constitution is very important to the Muslims. It's not the papers that matter to us. So, if we if we go to stones, it's not we're not going to really stones, we're going to the representation of God. If we open this book, it's not just a book made of papers that we many Muslims are ready to die for it. It's the word of God, the holy word of God inside, and that's what we respect. So, on the same connection, if there is a representation of God made by Makkah, holy Makkah, and there is representation made by a book,
God doesn't need a representation made by humans? It's very simple. I mean, if we look at it from this perspective, those humans are are really humans, they're not gods. No one worship them, no one from the Shia community really say, oh, Imam Ali is a partner of God and he have this No, he's just a servant of God that he was so close to him that God chose him to be an Imam as a successor of Prophet Muhammad. And yes, Shia believe they are infallible.
How can God be presented by non-infallible people? Can the Quran have mistakes? Can the pilgrim have mistakes? If you look in the philosophy of why we do pilgrimage, you will understand it's not made of mistake. It's the way of protons. I mean, that if you look in the atom, you look, you see how the electrons going around the nucleus. The same way we are going around the Kaaba, at the same time, you look at the moon and how it's going around the earth.
And then at the same time, you see how the earth is going around the sun in the same direction. And then all this universe, I mean, how it's going in the Milky Way and our universe is going with different universe around something. So, this is real, you know, it's it doesn't have any mistake. So, why when it come to people, it has to have mistakes? No, it's not. They have to be infallible because it's equivalent the Quran, it should be equivalent to those people.
In the meaning of representation of God. So, if God have a constitution, he will tell you, okay, those people are responsible for this constitution and they're going to be a witness for that. They're going to witness this constitution and they're going to teach you how you do it, and for them to do it because of the Quran, they have to be infallible. So, in this point from this point of view, Shia believe that they they really need an Imam.
And those Imams, the 12 Imams are mentioned in a hadith from the Prophet Muhammad that saying, Those two things that hang, which are his family, descendant family, and then the book of God. Okay, now we ask is the descendant family, the millions of people that related to the Prophet Muhammad now? Some of them are stealers, some of them are good people, some of them are bad people. So who are really those good people?
We go back to the same argument. We just said they have to be infallible. So if we search in the after his descendants, we saw we did see that he appointed Imam Ali as a successor. Now, there's many narration inside the Sunni school of thought, they're saying that yes, he was a successor, but he was just a successor as a picture, not as a political, like, you know, he's just a successor as someone who will tell you about your prayers, not as a political successor or he doesn't have this ability to do it.
Now, there's many narration inside the Sunni school of thought, they're saying that yes, he was he was a successor, but he was just a a successor as a picture, not as a political, like, you know, he's just a successor as someone who will tell you about your prayers, not as a political successor or he he doesn't have this ability to do it. How can the Quran present the constitution that saying, okay, this is the Islamic nation, it should be like this.
You should have justice inside it, you should have all this stuff inside. And now you need someone equivalent to it so he can do them. He can apply them, right? And after the death of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, we did see that all his family members were killed by the people who did who take this political government. And after after the after the death of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, we did see that all his family members were killed by the people who did who take this political government.
Is it those people were the followers or what? So as this questions and then from this point of view that is related to the logical point of view, because we need those three things that build the human being. So as this questions and then from this point of view that is related to the logic logical point of view, because we need those three things that build the human being. You need a book to learn knowledge, which is the Quran.
And at the same time, you need a place that represent God from this point of view, because you are when you go into prayers, because God exists in every place and we do exist in three-dimensional things, in three dimension, you need a Kaaba that is representing God in three dimension, so you can worship him. And at the same time, you need a place that represent God from this point of view, because you are when you go into prayers, because God exists in every place and we do exist in three dimensional things, in three dimension, you need a Kaaba that is representing God in three dimension, so you can worship him.
So from this point of view, we Shia say that we should follow those Imams and there's many narration from the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and even from the Quran that we can mention later. So from this point of view, we Shia say that we should follow those Imams and there's many narration from the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and even from the Quran that we can mention later. And I hope I can hear your replies.
And I hope I can read your good comment. We are looking for a good conversation. I mean, if you are against what I said, please show me the proofs, logical proofs. I mean, if you are against what I said, please show me the proofs, logical proofs. And if you are with me, please add more information because many people we are here seeking knowledge. We're not seeking fighting or we're not seeking wasting of time. So now I just conclude by saying Allahumma salli ala Muhammad wa Ali Muhammad and may God accept all your deeds.
in 13 min we described the shia point of view about why theiy believe in imams ..this point of view is presented from philosophical point view. by Mohamed Moussa
